Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner. j0519
I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is righteous;
because I seek not mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
j0530
For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to
have life in himself: and he gave him authority to execute judgement, because
he is the Son of man.
j0526-7
Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the Son may glorify thee: even
as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that whatsoever thou hast given
him, to them he should give eternal life.
j1701-2
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
[(he said unto him that was palsied),] I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy
bed, and go unto thy house.
k0210-1/l0524/m0906
But if I by the finger of God cast out devils, then is the kingdom of God come
upon you.
l1120/m1228
Who is it that touched me?
[Peter and they that were with him: Master, the multitudes press thee and
crush thee.]
Some one did touch me: for I perceived that power had gone forth from me.
l0845-6
[The chief priests and the elders of the people: By what authority doest thou
these things? and who gave thee this authority?]
I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I likewise will tell
you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it?
from heaven or from men?
[And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he
will say unto us, Why then did ye not believe him? But if we shall say, From
men; we fear the multitude; for all hold John as a prophet. And they answered
Jesus, and said, We know not.]
Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
m2123-7/k1128-33/l2002-8
Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take
it again. No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have
power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment
received I from my Father.
j1017-8
[At his arrest:] Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he
shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?
m2653
All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth.
