Dialogues and Sayings concerned with Those He Healed
(cont'd)
[Bartimaeus: Jesus, thou son of
David, have mercy on me.]
[And many rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the
more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.]
Call ye him.
[And they call the blind man: Be of good cheer: rise, he calleth thee.]
[And he, casting away his garment, sprang up, and came to Jesus.]
What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?
[Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.]
Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.
[And straightway he received his sight, and followed him in the way.]
k1047-52
[Ten men that were lepers: Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.]
Go and shew yourselves unto the priests.
[And as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he
was healed, turned back, with a loud voice glorifying God; and he fell upon
his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.]
Were not the ten cleansed? but where are the nine? Were there none found
that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger?
[To the man:] Arise, and go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. 1713-9
[A leper: Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.]
[He touched him.]
I will; be thou made clean.
[And straightway his leprosy was cleansed.]
See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer
the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.

[To the man sick of the palsy who was lowered through the roof] Son,
thy sins are forgiven.
[Certain scribes: Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can
forgive sins but one, even God?]
Why reason ye these things in your hearts? Whether is easier, to say to the
sick of the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy
bed, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth
to forgive sins [(he saith to the sick of the palsy]), I say unto thee,
Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thy house. k0205-11/l0520-4/m0902-6
[A woman with an issue of blood: If I touch but his garments, I shall
be made whole.]
Who touched my garments?
[His disciples: Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou,
Who touched me?]
Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy
plague.
k0528-34/m0921-2/l0845-8
[A man with an unclean spirit: What have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of
Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy
One of God.]
Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
[And the unclean spirit, tearing him and crying with a loud voice, came out
of him.]
[People in the synagogue: What is this? a new teaching! with authority he
commandeth even the
unclean spirits, and they obey him.] k0123-7/l0433-6
[Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb: and
he healed him, insomuch that the dumb man spake and saw. And all the
multitudes were amazed:]
[Is this the son of David?]
[The Pharisees: This man doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the
prince of the devils.]
Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every
city or house divided against itself shall not stand: and if Satan casteth
out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand?
And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out?
therefore shall they be your judges. But if I by the Spirit of God cast out
devils, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. Or how can one enter into
the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the
strong man? and then he will spoil his house. He that is not with me is
against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
