1 Summary
[
The first words of Christ's ministry:]
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.                                                         k0115

[What commandment is the first of all?]
The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. The second is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.                                                                                                                     k1229-31/l1027/m2236-9

A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.             j1334

This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.                                                                                j1512

All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.                                                                                                                                                                               m0712/l0631

Every one therefore which heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, which built his house upon the rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.                                                                                                                                                                 m0724-5/l0647-8

Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's.                                       k1217/l2025/m2221

Make to yourselves friends by means of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when it shall fail, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.                                                                                                                                                                                       l1609

Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. For the life is more than the food, and the body than the raiment. Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no storechamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit unto his stature? If then ye are not able to do even that which is least, why are ye anxious concerning the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin; yet I say unto you, Even Soloman in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God doth so clothe the grass in the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven; how much more shall he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, and what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. Howbeit seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.                                                                       l1222-32/m0625-33

2 The Beatitudes
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.                                            m0503-6/l0621
Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.                                                                                                             l0621
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness' sake:

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil

against  you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward

in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.                                             m0507-12/l0622-3

3 Example
Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house. Even so let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.                                                                                                                                                            m0514-6
